Kelly Maloney, MA: Kelly rec'd her dregree from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Carpinteria, CA. Kelly engages students of every age in a creative group process of imaginative story-tellingKelly Maloney with the use of picture cards. The pictures are paintings of characters, scenes, and objects and are used to springboard the imagination into the familiar and fantastic. The process is un-intimidating, rewarding and simple. The process is play and discovery. Even the most shy and reticent students take part! Storytelling is a primary human expression. The process engages students on a deeper, personal leveal and can be applied toward many subjects from creative writing to reading, to social studies, and on an elementary level, math! Middle school and high school creative writing and traditional studies in literature are enhanced by this process. She uses the card-image process for the beginning story-writing disciplines to show the sequence of story introduction, development and conclusion. Visual, verbal, audio and kinesthetic disciplines are activated in the story-telling play.

Susan Lavell Warm, MFA: Susan Lavell Warm earned a Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from San Francisco State University, where she studied poetry. A Western Washington native (raised in Mukilteo) with a maritime background, she recently moved to Anacortes when she married her husband, Wally. They have two children, Jordan, 16 and Marcella, 16 months.
